Yay. We won last week. We don't need to put in the effort again this week. Let's just cruise through this one shall we boys?
I'm sorry, but that was shocking. And yes, we had the useless ref we had when we played Sumner, and yes he called the game off early too, and yes, Burnside were down at one stage to 13 men, but was it too much to ask to keep some momentum going from last week?
Where were your heads boys? Not on the game it seemed. But that's just my opinion. There were moments of good play, but as usual, always from the same players. Poacher was deadly, but only on the rare occasions the ball came his way, Oscar tried to punch through the line but had no support and Webby (welcome back) just got punched.
Scotty and Matt were obvious on the side of the scrums and in the loose, but no one else from the forwards made an impression on me. Uli when he came on tried to put some passion back, but no one took up the call.
Obviously, there'll be training on Thursday. What you make of it is up to you.
Muncher was on fire at the club, as was his drinks and Dangerous's hand. Matt went possum hunting and Swede bared all for the boys. Was also good to hear a bit of a Keith singalong of old. Good times.

From the instant the boys woke up this morning, they were on fire and ready for this game. And that's why we won so convincingly. How many times have we told ourselves that rugby is 90% in the top 6 inches? Countless. But today was the first day we either listened or believed it. More of this self belief please.
Individual performances were many, Matt around the scrum, Oscar and Chilli in the mid field, Phil in the lineouts was more aggressive than I've ever seen before. Maybe because Marie was watching. But the stand out individual performance was in fact, Keith. Fuck he was good. Everywhere at once. Always there when needed for defence, always prepared for any sudden attack that was required to break through. I was proud of him. And he should be proud of himself. And to echo Uli's half time speech, the rest of the competition can sit up and take notice now. this is our grade, and we want it.

Linwood. Bollocks. True to form, they started licking them from the earliest opportunity. Mind you, I would too if I could.
Our disipline kept us out of trouble and Linwwod in a spot of bother for a lot of the match, but unfortunately, we couldn't or wouldn't or didn't take advantage enough of the opportunities given to us.
It's always annoying to lose by a small margin. Doubly so when you know you can and should have played better. But that's what makes it a game. I believe competitive darts is quite similar. One too many beers and your aim is off. One Hundred and Eighty!!!

Freezing workers. Can't trust them. Honestly. Dirty bastards the whole lot. Except of course for Lau Lau.
I was late to the game and only got there at the very beginning so I saw everything, but really, I wasn't paying that much attention to what was going on as I was mesmerised by the brilliant performances and the hard as nials defence and the crunching tackles that enabled us to secure our first win for the season. Our first win in eleven and a half months in fact.
So that was good.

Some people think there's this big rivalry between Marist and HSOB. Well there is. Even our own Catholics in the team don't like Marist. So it's always a test match when we do meet.
Matt as usual for good new boys to do, brought along his cousin Dean and a couple of other handy lads, as did Paddles. And they worked out very well indeed. Rosey out the back and Tom in the front row. And Dean in the middle. Was lovely to see them getting in amongst it all.
As usal, the same old crowd did the same old things on the paddock, and back in the clubrooms. We need to harden up a wee bit boys. Or at least put some oil in the tank.
