Pre-season rugby. You can't beat it for self induced heart failure. But nevertheless, it's that time of the year again.
Keith vs Linwood Bollocks
Saturday 27th March 2010 - 2-45pm
Bob Deans Fields, North Hagley Park
It's a new look Bollocks team with many of the old recognisable players retired so we have to be prepared for some fast new boys to contend with.
Photographs from the
2009,
2008 and
2007 pre-season games.
Phil, newly appointed
Club Captain, agreed to remain also as Keith Manager at todays Keith Inc. A.G.M. and we thank him for that decision. He's already made inroads into the season prep but still needs to know for sure who is and who isn't returning for 2010.
A good time for telling him your intentions would this coming Thursday 4th at the final Touch game of the summer season. There'll be cheap beer if that's an incentive to get you to come along.
If you can't make it to Touch, then the Married vs Singles cricket will also be a good time. That's this coming Sunday the
7th March, Midday at C.B.H.S. Straven Road. Bring $10 for the beers and some food for the bbq.
The Married vs Singles cricket match is as old a tradition as Keith is itself, so come along, bring the kids and the wife and the girlfriend if they get along ok, and enjoy some good natured banter and some wildly wide shots. Here's some pics from
2008 and
2007.
First training run of the season will commence on
Thursday 11th March at South Hagley 6-00pm. And from thence to Keasty's at the Bush Inn after all the running around and sweating. Although Trouty is in negotiations with Stroudy about turning that night into a Brewery Evening. Information on that will be posted as soon as it's confirmed.
I know it's a pain for some, but for others it's a chance to escape from the wife and kids for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. For the team, it's something we have to do, so let's get it over and done with.
If you have anything you wish brought up at the meeting, please attend and bring it up yourself or send it to the Secretary
rugby@keith.org.nz giving all details.
Sunday, 28th February - 3-00pm at Keasty's
Bush Inn Hotel, Riccarton Road.
All Keiths, current, former and new are most welcome.
This is your chance to tell us what's on your mind.
